Research Interests
Stieva (they/them) is a war and society scholar who specializes in the study of racism within the Canadian military during the twenthieth century. Their current project focuses on identifying and understanding the effects of anti-Black racism within Canada's Second World War effort. Additionally, they are developing a manuscript based upon their doctoral research which explores anti-Black racism within the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War.
